Krishna, Telugu Film Star of the 1980s, Dies at 79
Indian media reported that he was taken to hospital in Hyderabad on Monday with severe cardiac problems that needed resuscitation. He died in hospital on Tuesday morning.
In addition to his own career as actor, director and producer over a period of some five decades and 350 films, Krishna is known as the father of current star Mahesh Babu.
Born as Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy in 1943, Krishna began work in the film industry in 1961 and had his first leading role in 1965’s “Thene Manasulu.”

Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu specially flew down to the city to pay his respects at the body of Dasari Narayana Rao at the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce at Filmnagar.
Thousands of people thronged the filmmaker's house at Jubilee Hills since his death on Monday evening.
A large number of people gathered at the film chamber of commerce where the body was shifted to for a brief while. The body was then taken to Moinabad for the final rites.
Describing Dasari Naryana Rao as a 'Maha Natudu (great actor) and 'Mata Netha (great director), Chandrababu Naidu said he had got introduced to Dasari as a young man through actor Mohan Babu. "Dasari and his wife Padma (who is no more) treated me like their own family member. I am unable to digest the fact that he is no more," Chandrababu Naidu said.
