Bjorg biography of martin

Martin Stangebye is a Norwegian born cellist from Oslo. His education in music stems from some of the best schools in Scandinavia. Martin is an accomplished cellist and a skilled solo player, chamber and orchestra musician. 

Martin began playing the cello at the age of six. He showed great talents at an early age, which earned him a spot at the talent program connected to Barratt Due Music Institute. 

Martins is very passionate about orchestra literature. When Martin was younger, he traveled around Europe to participate in several youth orchestras. Despite his young age, Stangebye is already an experienced ensemble player and he has played with some of the best Scandinavian orchestras. As well as being a regular substitute in several orchestras in Norway, Martin has been playing with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra for the last years. 

Martin has an enormous interest for chamber music. He has won first prize in the Midgard-competition and the chamber music competition at The Norwegian Academy of Music. Stangebye has also played at several international festivals such as the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival, Festival Ppiamissimo and many more.
